There have been plenty of teasers for Stella McCartney’s latest POP fragrance that feature a group of talented women such as pop artiste Grimes, activist Amandla Stenberg, Madonna’s daughter Lourdes Leon or Lola, and model and daughter of Quincy Jones, Kenya Kinski-Jones, who all appear in this pink dream of an advertisement. Going by the choice of talents, the whole appeal of POP is founded on evoking irreverence and fearlessness of those who embody it, or at least wish to, with each hopeful spritz of the perfume. In the ad, the four ladies are dressed in delicate slip dresses and dainty intimate wear as they travel through the barren desert in a convertible/pool (WTF) and dance in the sand – all of which are set to Grimes’ ‘Venus Fly’ that’s taken off Art Angels.
