VIDEO: Goodbye by Tyler Russo
Made by an undergraduate animation student, Tyler Russo, this animated-live action short film tells the tale of a dead man getting a job interview. After a brutal car accident, a man is forced to confront and examine his life. Flashes of the unnamed man’s past then leads him to waking up in a monitor — facing a post-humous interviewer. The interviewer talks in a mechanical tune and changes his mask after each sentence — asking him about his daughter and his friend whom he was partnered with in the Cold War. Both topics involve the man blaming himself for their deaths. Suffice it to say, things get emotionally intense.
With stunning and realistic animation, no wonder it got picked by the GLAS Animation Festival. Will the truth still hurts even if you’re dead? Watch the video below:
