One of the most buzzed about films to come out of the Sundance film fest was Dope, written and directed by Rick Famuyiwa and features four original tracks from Pharrell Williams. In a five-star review by The Guardian, the film has been pegged as an “easily meme-worthy teen comedy.” Well, one look at the unique teaser trailer and we know this to be true. It really is a tease as the trailer doesn’t divulge much — or anything at all — about the critically acclaimed film, but it’s basically a coming of age story about a black nerd named Malcolm who’s obsessed with ’90s hip hop while growing up “in the Bottoms” of Inglewood, California. Dope stars newcomer Shameik Moore as well as Forest Whitaker, A$AP Rocky, Chanel Iman, and Zoe Kravitz.
