Hypnotic. Mesmerising. Mystifying. Those are just some of the words that may well describe the new music video to singer-songwriter Ali Aiman’s ‘Breathe’ off his upcoming Overture EP to be released sometime this month. Artfully directed and exquisitely edited, Mahen Bala’s beautiful black-and-white visual serves as a faithful partner to the sensually slow ‘Breathe’. Just like the rhythm of our own respiration, the downtempo beat-laden track — with its moody and mellow atmosphere — swims and surfaces, Aiman’s airy vocals softly floating over delicate piano keys. If this is any indication of what’s to come, then we can’t imagine it will be long before we see this Berklee grad receive the international recognition he deserves.
