So much buzz surrounding the arrival of Uniqlo’s new store in Malaysia at Fahrenheit 88. With a chance to win an all-expense paid trip to Tokyo and major slash on the price for the opening, why wouldn’t there be? Especially since this Japanese brand’s pieces are super comfortable and dope at the same time. JUICE was there for the 3-storey store walk-through the day before the launch and we were amazed by the beautiful structures, you have to see it to believe it. But before that, we hit up the pre-opening party launch at the centre court of Fahrenheit 88 the night before.
The main entrance of Fahrenheit 88 turned into a paparazzi frenzy that Wednesday night. Guests were treated to a red carpet treatment and as you enter, drinks were free-flowing and JUICE DJ Quest 2009 finalist DJ Faith was on the decks while we wait for the show to start. Members of the media and guests were anxious after an hour of waiting. From the inside, we could hear the interview being conducted on the outside by E! News Asia host Dominic Lau with the celebrities who would be rocking the stage, and wished it was projected on the screen on the stage.
After a good hour or so, the show starts and we saw a lot of familiar Malaysian faces doing their thang on the runway. Amongst the usual suspects were TV host Henry Golding, Malaysian Idol winner Jaclyn Victor, hip hop star Joe Flizzow, DJ and host Joey G, blogger superstar Joyce Wong and one of the hottest DJs in town DJ Goldfish, among others. After the fun runway show, Goldfish took over the decks and got everyone dancing. Despite the delays, I think we were all just happy with the arrival of Uniqlo in Malaysia. Now, let’s hope everyone doesn’t dress the same…
