According to Malaysiakini, Padang Rengas MP Mohamed Nazri Abdul Aziz has joined the ranks of politicians to be tested positive for COVID-19.

When contacted, Nazri said that he decided to go for screening after his news conference at the party headquarters on 12 January, was attended by an Umno blogger, Datuk Zaharin Mohd Yasin, who announced he had the coronavirus four days later.

“Zaharin wrote on his blog saying he tested positive for COVID-19. So after I read the blog I did the test and I was confirmed positive last night,” he told Malaysiakini.

Nazri also said he is currently under quarantine at the Raja Perempuan Zainab Hospital in Kota Baru, Kelantan since yesterday (18 Jan).

When asked by Malay Mail as to why he is in Kota Baru, Nazri said, “I went for a vacation right after the press conference”.
