Uffie: Sex Dreams and Denim Jeans (Ed Banger)

If you’ve ever wanted anyone to blame for this whole Ke$ha outbreak, look no further than our little friend Uffie. Bursting back onto the scene in 2005 with a cameo in Justice’s The Party, Uffie soon became an Ed Banger sweetheart with her talk/rap (is it even rapping? Does anyone know whats going on here?). She then went on to do … well, nothing. It’s been 5 years, and finally we have a release.

With a slew of big name producers like Pharell Williams, Mr Oizo and vocals from Mattie Safer, this album, while lackluster at times, is an easy going fun listen, full of electro beats, synth and even some RnB grooves.

While Uffie will never be accused of being a great singer, she is a clever songwriter. Uffie can easily be charged guilty of abusing autotune (more so than Kayne!), but apparently rap/speak is the best way to deliver upfront and frank lyrics. While Sex, Dreams and Denim Jeans isn’t quite as fun as the album title implies, it makes for a good indulgent frolic in the meadow of Ed Banger.
