The gigs lined up for next year is shaping up to be real good with the addition of San Fran electronica musician Tycho. Drawing comparisons to instrumental hip hop pioneer DJ Shadow, Ulrich Schnauss, and Scottish electronic duo Boards of Canada, Tycho’s individual sounds encompass a downbeat soundscape that is dreamlike and filled with a sense of wonder. Besides being sonically gifted, he’s also endowed in design through his work as ISO50, so expect to have the two artistic abilities collide as his ambient tracks come alive on stage. Especially since the release of latest album Awake, which serves not only as his fourth output but also as the man put it, “The first true Tycho record.” Catch the show yourself and see if the claim is true.
