The sixth studio album from Scottish soft-rockers, Travis showcases a more rocky and edgy approach to songwriting. Sure they’re the same band with the same sound, but Ode To J. Smith bears some tighter song arrangements. It’s also the first album be written from electric guitar since their debut Good Feeling. The band took a fortnight to record and that sense of urgency shows through their stripped-down and rough-edged sound. Definitely a pleaser to fans of the band. BL
