Chicago post-rock pioneers Tortoise are heading to Kuala Lumpur this September for a rare live appearance at PJPAC.

Known for pushing instrumental music far beyond its expected boundaries, the legendary band will take the stage at Stage 1, Petaling Jaya Performing Arts Centre on Wednesday, 2 September 2026, as part of their Asia Tour.

The show is set to begin at 8 p.m.

Formed in Chicago in the early 1990s, Tortoise have spent more than three decades warping the rules of rock, jazz, electronica, dub, and whatever else they feel like throwing into the mix. Their sound is intricate, atmospheric, and constantly shifting, making them one of the most influential acts to emerge from the post-rock movement.

And if you think you know what a “rock concert” sounds like, Tortoise are probably about to ruin that definition for you.

Their KL stop comes as part of a wider Asia Tour, giving Malaysian fans the chance to catch the band’s layered, rhythm-heavy sound live in an intimate theatre setting.

Tickets are available through ONETIX, with prices ranging from RM168 to RM208, while limited priority seats are available at RM128.
