Old is gold, they say. Not us. We’re young, so we like it new and fresh. Unlike this newspiece – which is old. But like the news it carries – which is fresh. Don’t follow. Well, back in September 2008 (see, old), Tommy Hilfiger kicked off the London leg of its Hilfiger Sessions (see, fresh).

Organised in partnership with Sony BMG Europe and held at the historic Porchester Hall in Bayswater Road on September 22, the exclusive, invitation-only event was headlined by singer-songwriter John Legend, who showcased material from his highly anticipated new album Evolver, and performances by The Metros, and up-and-comers Steve Appleton and Zarif.

The hostess with the mostess was Gavin Rossdale’s It girl child Daisy Lowe, while spotted in the crowd were siblings and offspring of various famous people like Ray Winstone’s young ‘un Jaime Winstone, Lily’s Allen’s brother/Keith Allen’s son Alfie and Sway (we love Sway), who is famous because he actually has talent (although he clearly has dubious taste in clothing).

We couldnt be there and probably neither could you, but being the kind of brand that wants to reach out to you, Tommy Hilfiger has brought the session to us via his online TV channel, TommyTV (www.tommytv.com), so go check it there. The latest Session builds on the existing success of The Hilfiger Sessions, a series of musical events, founded in Amsterdam three years ago, which sees both high profile artists and new talent playing at intimate gigs in cities around the world.

Recent Sessions have taken place in Madrid, Berlin and New York, with appearances from artists such as Wyclef Jean, Kelly Rowland, Moby, and Dave Navarro and Donovan Leitch from Camp Freddy. So yo, Tommy, check the map, Kuala Lumpur, it’s like way over here and we like new music and fresh clothes!
