Think You Got Skillz #11 @ Cloth & Clef

After a successful 1st season, emcee battle event Think You Got Skillz made possible by mastermind Vandal has returned and it went hard with the 11th installment last Friday. The weekend hype on Changkat Bukit Bintang was as per usual but surprisingly Cloth & Clef wasn’t as buzzing as it usually is for TYGS. It had to be a Ramadhan thing.

The night’s vibe was smoothed out by The Silk Road aka Vandal and Illsteez on decks turning out some dope hip hop beats. Starting just before midnight, last year’s TYGS winner Kraft took spotlight as host. Setting the standard was a guest performances by Arabyrd, who killed it as usual, followed by the very talented Sona One, oone boy you oughta look out for. It was then followed by dramatic hip hop duo Amayzing who were pretty intense.

The battles were on fire and returning contenders from last year were spotted on stage. This installment round 2Dope, Dugod, Zain Azrai, Hassani, 3M and Freakwency fought the good fight but it was Dugod who slayed the competition in the end.

Among those cheering the rap soldiers were Melissa Indot, Dose Two and Joe Flizzow. TYGS definitely ranks the best place to be if you wanna get your swag on. The night ended with Vandal and Kraft laying it down freestyle on the mic, before the Silk Road took us on one final musical journey.
