Following SaturdaySelects’ eighth instalment featuring Soulection co-founder Joe Kay last month, SaturdaySelects now have teamed with PHIX to host a listening party for Soulection’s 300th radio show. Aside from being in the same space as other Soulection devotees to fangirl over Joe Kay’s genius, guests will also be treated to DJ sets by Nafsu, Rooks, Lionel Rizki, and Roshan; each DJ embodies particularly different styles (i.e. one is obsessed with anime while the other is fixated with house music), so no two sets will be alike.
Beyond music though, PHIX is also opening its doors to retail brands such as Third Culture and Pantun Pins to sell their pieces as well as artist 4715Y4 (aka Yung Buddha [aka Alisya Fairuz]) to feature her work this weekend. SaturdaySelects and PHIX are working towards hosting The Sunday Phix on a monthly basis with the objective of showcasing obscure artists, retail labels, producers, and musicians within the region. Head over this weekend for a first-hand experience of what to expect from the event in the near future.
