The Bee at Publika is home to the city’s hottest intimate events. To add into the venue’s list of shows, the locally infused Sambal Party – a gig where a blend of spicy musicians meet – is next in line. Supported by newcomers Kita:orang and luna.dira, the party will see acts of all genres coming together for a unique mix of what our homeland has to offer.
Set to hype up the night is TMJB (The Maha Jeffery Band), a rock’n’roll band that fuses blues and a bit of jazz into their performances. It’s also the last show the band will play with frontman Maha before he leaves the country, so if you dig the guy’s soulful singing, it’s best you come for the farewell show.
Stay for a little longer to catch the rest of the crew like indie-rojak band Son of a Policeman (SOAP), jazz and blues-inspired Dani, and Kaya, an audiovisual spectacle of reggae-influenced groove if you want to end the night with some dancing. There’s a bit of everything at The Sambal Party, and everyone is gonna come home with a full stomach and heart.
