The Movemint presents The Beat Meet

Thirsty for JUICE content? Quench your cravings on our Instagram, TikTok and WhatsApp

Vandal is back and he’s bringing the beats this time round. Producers in Malaysia, take note! We know Malaysia’s got talent and a lot of them don’t have the platform to showcase what they can do. Now you can submit those tracks you’ve been working on in the bedroom and share with your friends around the world! Well, almost. Think You Got Skillz (TYGS) which gave us the MC battles, which gave a little bit more hope in the hip hop scene in Malaysia. The Beat Meet is just the next phase for The Movemint to pump things up in Malaysian hip hop.

There will be 2 beats entry, the first being your own original material and the second aspect of it would be a remix competition which consists of a sample MP3 uploaded on Facebook and on The Movemint blog page, which you’re suppose to create your own dope beat remix. The remix beat will be judged during the live show by our panel and the producers will be asked questions related to how they created the beat.

Deadline for the online submissions will be on 4 July, so work on them now. The top 8 producers to battle out for the champion belt will be announced on 9 July, in The Beat Meet at Cloth & Clef. Winners will be determined in classic TYGS style – the crowd’s cheers and of course, the panel of judges. Time to upload your tracks on www.reigningbeats.com (beta code is ‘jamo’) for entries now. Grind time!

Affiliate Producers Block also allows you to create your own profile so go and add your beat at www.producersblock.com. There’s also Sound Cloud to drop your beat quickly at soundcloud.com/vandigital/dropbox. It’s all on you now.

Hold on! For b-boy battles and DJ battles, there are some coming atcha too. Think You Got Skillz is coming back 7 August. Best of all, Vandal is working on his next album. Oh boy! You know Vandal’s up to no good and JUICE loves it!

The Beat Meet will be held on Thursday 9 July at Cloth & Clef on Changkat Bukit Bintang. Event will be hosted by Vandal and The Silk Road will be on the decks to provide music. It’s free entry, as usual. Starts from 10pm right up to 3am. Hit up the Facebook event page and also themovemint.blogspot.com to find out more. You got questions?
