The causeway will be seeing numerous influxes of Malaysian traffic as the excellent gigs keep lining up for the next year in Singapore. The question on how disposable your income is to spend it on gigs overseas is a personal and private issue but we highly recommend that you add this to your list. The Gathering will see a bill of artistes who will serenade, enthrall, move you up with a myriad of melody and rhythm from all sorts of genres: twee indie rockers Belle and Sebastian, the jangly guitars of Real Estate, and psychedelic rockers Temple will have you swooning and swaying. Caribou will provide the experimental dance choons as would tUnE-yArDs‘ unusually magnificent brand of indie pop. If sentimentality is more your game, the gentle swiping vocals of trio Pleasantry, ear-ringing falsetto a la r’n’b crooner How To Dress Well, and Singapore’s own Charlie Lim (do you remember when he performed at Urbanscapes some time back?) will do the trick.
