Any music fan would regard LA beat scene luminary Flying Lotus as one of this generation’s greats; his most recent album You’re Dead! was critically lauded and was featured on numerous ‘Best Album of 2014’ listicles (including ours). The album was an elegy, a meditation on life, death, and reincarnation that’s full of emotional turns. Working with a luminous group of artistes has enabled Flying Lotus to achieve his vision, as he revealed that working with revered bassist Thundercat has opened him up to a more collaborative process, and these collaborators were Kendrick Lamar, Herbie Hancock, and Snoop Dogg, to name the most notable of them all. Catch the experimental multi-genre musician across the causeway for The Gathering Live Music Series, it may very well be the highlight of your year.
