The Dø is an avant-garde folk band formed in 2007 comprising of Frenchmen Dan Levy and Finnish Olivia Bouyssou Merilahti. What gives this duo an edge to other bands of its genre you ask? For starters, they’re the first act to reach #1 in France with an album sung in English, and they offer a refreshing take on what is traditionally a ‘yawn out loud’ music scene. Their single ‘On My Shoulders’ shows off their willingness to be experimental and creative with their music, mixing up different sounds and styles to put together a charmingly offbeat track.
