There are so many pubs and bars sprouting out of this area that you’d think the Majlis Perbandaran sprinkled nightlife seeds in the soil when they first reclaimed this land. Out of all of them, The Cube stands out the most. A massive sign on top of a 2-storey shoplot provides a rather deceiving account of the venue’s actual proportions, which take up a mere ground floor level of a corner lot. Nevertheless The Cube packs in plenty: a minimalist and futurist style; top tunes from resident and owner DJ Lyn, who drops plenty of r ‘n’ b and JUICE DJ Quest 2007 winner Ben Cracko who spins mean music for the feet; and a real up for it attitude – the Cube was the venue of choice for DJ Nicky’s recent live recording.
