Workers at a construction site in Kuala Lumpur got a big scare when they found an object they believed to be a “grenade”. Well, it turns out it was just a power bank.

Dang Wangi OCPD Asst Comm Mohamad Zainal Abdullah stated that his team was alerted about the object said to be an explosive found at the TRX construction at around 12:50pm on Friday (7 May).

“The Bomb Disposal Unit (UPB) was rushed to the scene to inspect the object found by the workers.

“Personnel from the mobile patrol vehicle unit were also deployed to the location to control the scene,” he said in a statement today.

Zainal said after the inspection was carried out by the UPB, the object was found to be a power bank from the brand Remax.

“UPB team leader confirmed that the object found was a power bank, and not a grenade,” he said.
