Penang. World Heritage Site. The Pearl of the Orient. And, for the past 4 years, home to The Penang Island Jazz Festival.

Come Dec 4th to 7th 2008, the island will once again be in “festival mood” as the 5th edition of the acclaimed international jazz event will be held here.

The event promises jazz fans a full “Festival Experience” with world-class performances, workshops and exhibitions set against the backdrop of the beautiful island.

The Main Stage Performances are set on the 6th and 7th Dec at the Gardens of the Bayview Beach Resort, Batu Ferringhi. Among the many foreign acts this year are Friend N Fellow (Germany), Djabe feat. Steve Hackett (Hungary/UK), Tran Manh Tuan Band (Vietnam), Pascoal Meirelles Trio (Brazil) and Jaume Vilaseca Quartet feat. Violetta Curry (Spain). From Malaysia, the performers are Aseana Percussion Unit, Adibah Noor, Island Jazz Connection and Andy Peterson Inc (API).
