Synth Pop Night at Gaslight Tonight

Gaslight Cafe & Music may have started out as a folk and unplugged skewed music venue but with tonight’s offering, it shows that the times are a-changing.

Nevertheless, in keeping with the venue’s goal of introducing new local talent, the performers tonight are relatively new in the scene.

First up is LK Wong, a guitarist-keyboardist who’s just released his solo EP Vulcan Sunset. If you like driving around a beach town in a convertible with the top down while on acid, these songs from the EP might do your vibe justice. Checkout ‘1984’ for some slow-burning ’80s guitar action and ‘Room 106’ featuring the vocals of Shaynon Lee for a taste of sweet synth-pop. Usually playing with a band, LK Wong will be playing solo at Gaslight tonight.

Also onstage tonight is Khye Mun, an electronic musician who dropped ‘Once Upon A Toon’ – a nostalgic cartoon-tribute music video a couple of years ago:

And here’s something more recent from Khye Mun:

Catch both of them tonight at Gaslight Cafe
