For those who believe that surfin’ is an activity exclusive to sunny, beach areas like California, Bali and Gold Coast, think again! Quiksilver will be heading to the bustling Big Apple with some of the best pro-surfers in the world for the Quiksilver Pro New York 2011.

Though not as famous as other more casual surfin’-destinations, New York actually has some of the best waves in the world, from Rockaway Beach in Queens to more distant spots off Long Island and New Jersey.

With USD1 million up for grabs, 34 top world surfers will be battling it out on the waves at Long Beach, NY from 1-15 September. The Quiksilver Pro New York 2011 event will also see groundbreaking performances by Wolfmother and Interpol as well as legendary names in surfin’ and extreme sports such as Kelly Slater, Tony Hawk and Dane Reynolds.

Now, that’s one wave that JUICE would like to catch! Surf’s up!
