“We are young, we run green, Keep our teeth, nice and clean, See our friends, see the sights, feel alright.” Until today, I can’t stop humming to that Supergrass super hit ‘Alright’ from their breakthrough 1995 album I Should Coco. Supergrass was formed in 1993 and became one of the top bands during the whole Britpop shebang alongside other geezers like Oasis and Blur. They recently released their statement to end the band after nearly 17 years. Booooo…
The Oxford band said in the statement, “Thanks to everyone who has supported us over the years. We still love each other but, cliche notwithstanding, musical differences have led to us moving on and of course we all wish each other well in the future”.
Supergrass will be playing 4 farewell shows with the finale on 11 June in Paris. Why oh why do the good ones have to go?
