Summer Music Festivals Highlights
It’s summertime; the warmth of the sun knocks on your window and says it’s time to get out and have some fun. Festivals and party tickets are fast sold out as those who failed to get their hands on any cry themselves a river. JUICE checks out huge events happening all around England this summer; namely the Camp Bestival, Creamfield and The Big Chill of year 2010.
CAMP BESTIVAL
Eat, drink and be merry
Camp Bestival is back again! The tranquil heart of a large estate will be transformed into merry and fun-filled location giving guests a wide array of activities for all ages featuring reputable DJs spinning the decks for you party people, ‘Spoken Word‘ for wordsmiths, ‘Kids Chorus Sing Along‘ for the tiny tots, live music performances by more than 50 over artists and copious comedic treats by the best of comedy scene showcasing at the Jestival Sessions.
Massive sounds will flood the Camp Bestival with live music performances such as perfect precision pop from David E Sugar, chill wavers Summer Camp, chip tune warrior Unicorn Kid, post-folksters Spindle & Wit and current king of the pop tree, Calvin Harris. Keeping the dance floor pumped up is head honcho Rob Da Bank, DJ Yoda ramping up the dancefloor mayhem, reggae sound system legend DJ Derek, dubstep don Joker, house touchstone Cooly G and many more!
This year’s fancy dress up theme ‘Fairy Tales‘ sprinkles a little jolly magic dusts on partygoers with rib-tickling comedy acts such as mirth music maker Tim Minchin. In addition to that, the East Lulworth Literary Institute have arranged plenty of art and cultural activities for the eggheads aka bookworms, theatre buffs as well as poets.

THE BIG CHILL FESTIVAL
The Perfect Summer Chill Out
Happening at another remarkable castle in UK, The Big Chill Festival 2010‘s partygoers (who call themselves “chillers”) will be flooding the vicinity of Eastnor Castle Deer Park for the jaw-dropping line up of artists and activities. The 15 going on 16-year-old festival promises chillers this will be the best yet.
With over 70 music line ups rocking 10 or more arenas, the headlines are Massive Attack and MIA to kick-start the weekend’s atmosphere. Other acts include rapper Roots Manuva, prominent producer Starsmith, pioneer of electro funk Greg Wilson, downtempo styled musical duo Zero 7, iconic duo of tech house and break beat Layo and Bushwacka!, dubstep legends Kruder and Dorfmeister, rapper turned soul singer Plan B and many more.
Another highlight for The Big Chill Festival 2010 is artist Spencer Tunick, who will direct a mass disrobing for one of his world renowned, nude landscapes during the weekend and cult food architects Bompas & Parr (aka the Jellymongers) letting chillers indulge in the Ziggurat of Flavour, a spectacular pyramidal installation, containing a labyrinth of taste sensations. Brilliant!

Unlike the other 2, Creamfields 2010 is fun and wild made solely for adults. Winner of UK Festival Awards 2009 as ‘Best Dance Festival’ returns to Daresbury this summer securing a whole host of exclusive and fresh performances from the best of the best that dance music has to offer. Creamfields 2010 is all about some of the best music acts giving party people hellova great time. So let’s just KISS (Keep It Short and Simple), shall we?
Headlining the event is global phenomenon David Guetta, the mighty Tiёsto back by demand, dance titan Deadmau5, the forefathers of electronica Leftfield as well as self proclaimed re-inventor of disco, Calvin Harris. Other awesome acts include Cream Ibiza resident Paul van Dyk, DJ Armin van Buuren keeping trance fans high, ground breaking duo Diplo & Switch aka Major Lazer, dubstep founding father and one half of Magnetic Man; Benga, queens of hard dance Lisa Lashes and best selling hard trance and electro producer Anne Savage. Disco kings Hed Kandi return as hosts so get your hands in the air, get your soul fired up and get ready for the mother of all VIP parties!
