Stonebay started out in the early 2000s as another heavy grunge band that played sparsely attended shows at the infamous Paul’s Place. Since then, the band has gone through several line-up changes with frontman Ojie being the only original member. Their perseverance paid off as they’ve managed to achieve what Disagree and other local contemporary rock bands can only dream of with their debut EP.

From the hard-hitting opener and title track to the shuffling ‘Drama Di Petang Hari’, Stonebay infuses elements of grunge, hard rock, gamelan, prog rock, blues and even goth music with buzzing guitars, pounding drums, booming basslines and other instruments – horns, piano and strings add to the colour. Best of all, this is one of the few local bands where you don’t feel like murdering the lead singer.
