SPA Mix

Thirsty for JUICE content? Quench your cravings on our Instagram, TikTok and WhatsApp

One of JUICE DJ Quest’s earliest and youngest entrants back in 2003, Romel Johan’s profile has been growing faster than Pinnochio’s nose if old woody were a politician. He’s also just released a mix he got done with his 2 friends Ernest Chow and DJ Edmund. They call themselves Supreme Phunk Assassins (SPA). They were nice enough to share it with JUICE for your listening pleasure.

DJing since he was 15, Romel first found his feet mucking around with the  sounds of hip hop and R&B, participating in the very first Vestax Malaysia Extravaganza and made it to the finals. His music has since evolved moving into the deep and tribal realms of house. After JUICE DJ Quest 2003, Romel hosted a radio show on Red 104.9FM with his new brand of techno and house and became a familiar name at the now-defunct Atmosphere at 17 thanks to some astounding 3-turntable sets, a signature of his.

This young man has traveled to so many countries and has shared the stage with the likes of Tall Paul, Benny Bennasi, Joris Voorn, Judge Jules, Felix Da Housecat and so many more. In 2006, he was listed as #4 on the www.thedjlist.com and the next year sees him at #3. Now he’s got his own labels, namely Stream Recordings and Dark N Dirty Recordings focusing on funky techno and deeper house respectively.

The idea of this came out as a side project for the more commercial side of EDM, with the Motto – Mutata To Survive – Hahaha. Btw.. i’ve attached a photo of us hehe.. I guess this time its me who owes your lunch 😛 hahaha.*

Here’s a mix they passed to JUICE as a side project for the commercial side of EDM with their motto of ‘Mutate to Survive’. Cute. We wanna share the love too. Click here to download.
