Sony Releases Wearable Air-Con That You Can Fit Under Your Clothes So You Never Have To Sweat
After introducing the Reon Pocket, an app-controlled wearable AC, Sony announced that it will be releasing a follow-up product that is improved to take on those sunny days, especially if you live where it’s summer all year round.
The Reon Pocket 2 looks more or less like the original model, which was released through crowdfunding last year. But it has newly designed internals that can achieve up to twice the level of heat absorption which allows for more powerful cooling performance.
Sony says that the Reon Pocket 2 also has an improved sweat-proofing, making it more suitable for light exercises. The original model was mostly marketed as something to wear with a special undershirt to make your commute in the summer more bearable, but now Sony is focusing on more versatile uses, particularly Golf.
Sony has partnered with various sportswear brands such as LeCoq Sportif and Munsingwear to produce a range of golf wear that features pockets where you can slot the wearable AC.
Taking into consideration that not everyone is into golf, the company also designed a neckstrap accessory so the Reon Pocket can be used with regular clothes. Before, you had to get a specific undershirt that only Sony sells.
The Reon Pocket 2 was released in Japan back in April for 14,840 yen (RM555.40). We can’t confirm if it is available in Malaysia at the moment but hey, there’s always the internet.
