From Sneakers To Earrings & Bucket Hats, Fans Are Immortalising McDonald’s BTS Meal In Creative Ways
The McDonald’s x BTS Meal collaboration that was launched last May had passionate fans and opportunists alike excited to get their hands on the meal.
It was launched in 50 countries including Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, the Philippines and the United States, which saw a steep rise in their customers.
For the most part, the BTS Meal seems like a regular McD meal; 10 pieces of chicken nuggets, two sauces (sweet chilli and spicy cajun), medium-sized coke and fries – the idolised Korean group’s supposedly favourite order from the fast-food chain.
However, it’s the packaging that people are after, which has BTS and McD logos printed all over in cool purple, a colour typically associated with the fandom. However, as the packaging will no doubt degrade and rot, certain steps need to be taken to preserve it just as a collector would to protect their prized old newspapers or comics collection.
While there are opportunists who try to profit off the hype, the ARMY (BTS fans) and some creative people out there have shared their ways of preserving the “merch”.
From DIY accessories like keychains, mobile phone accessories, to unlikely fashion items such as sneakers and handbags, check them out below:

Some people think that BTS fandom might have gone too far this time with the obsession and preservation of the food’s packaging, but hey, at least they didn’t try to keep the nuggets in a time-capsule.
