Singaporean Artiste, Vintage Revivalist Miss Lou Releases Her Debut EP
From the dense urban jungle of Singapore comes a classic vintage artist with a pop twist – Miss Lou has just released her debut EP, Glamour Vintage Songbird, showcasing five self-written songs.
Her first single, ‘More Than Just That Bass’, made it onto Singapore’s Top Acts playlist, alongside other Singaporean acts such as The Sam Willows, Sezairi, and Gentle Bones. Moreover, it took the #9 spot on Spotify’s Singapore Viral 50 chart, amongst Justin Bieber, Gentle Bones, MYRNE, and Rich Chigga. Check it out below.
Lou shares her 21st Century perspective, based on her experiences as a young woman navigating independence, heartbreak, beauty and self esteem. Expect robust horn lines, doo-wop style back up vocals, Motown beats and more, but with a modern sensibility.
This April, Lou took her musical career to the next level by flying overseas to Revolver Recordings in California, United States to record her EP with Mikal Blue, producer and songwriter, best known for his work with Colbie Caillat, Jason Mraz and One Republic. The EP was then mastered at Bakery Mastering, a Grammy award winning studio responsible for the acclaimed La La Land Original Movie Soundtrack album.
