TTDI Market’s Mini-Block Party, Sesi Kaki Lima, is Back
Though Public School (PS) has an official space by the name of fono at The Zhongshan Building, a creative hub spearheaded by OUR ArtProjects in Kampung Attap, its previous HQ at Pasar Besar TTDI is still very much active. So lest followers of the vinyl collective has forgotten that, Sesi Kaki Lima returns for its fourth iteration this Sunday 16 July – fully curated by PS member Lionel Rizki for this round. As with its previous editions, the series features predominantly DJ sets with a live act thrown in for good measure, as well as a mini-bazaar showcasing independent retailers of miscellaneous disciplines and artistic inclinations.
On the DJ front, PS members Naj Frusciante, Lionel Rizki and Ruud, DANGERDISKO’s ROBOTRON5000, and Mino will be your selectaz of the Sunday party, while electronic singer-songwriter Stemilyn is to provide live choons somewhere in the midst. Pop-up booths include the sale of independent zines by Biawak Gemok Distro, a curation of preloved books by Bukuku Press, locally made witty pins by Pantun Pins (check out its new releases by Yohan), vinyl records by Public School themselves, and finally, a selection of prints on tote bags, t-shirts, and such by Wisma Alvadey. Yes, there will be the kind of beverages you’re thinking of right now, but keep it on the down low.
