Are You Beautiful? Join The Search For Inclusive Beauty Ambassadors & Be The Change You Want To See
What is beauty?
For years, the general population has been made to believe that the faces of beauty can only be seen on magazine covers, billboards and the screens of our televisions and mobile devices.
These faces are usually perfectly adorned with make-up and symmetrical features that may not necessarily portray the reality and nuance of what it means to be beautiful.
Beauty does not come in just one skin tone, age range, gender, body type or ethnicity. Beauty is everywhere, and that needs to be shown.
That is why the media brands, SAYS, Seismik, Mashable Southeast Asia and JUICE, are banding together to champion inclusivity in the beauty industry through a nationwide search for inclusive beauty ambassadors.
This casting call is open to all Malaysians and yes, we are seeking people who are beautiful despite what society may lead them to think.
People of various ages, genders, skin tones and textures, body type and height, and ethnicities as well as people with skin conditions, medical conditions, disabilities, and so forth, are all welcomed to participate.
While change is present in international beauty mammoths like Fenty Beauty, Rare Beauty and about-face, as well as local sweethearts like Beautyra and Desi Rose Cosmetics, there is still much to be done in terms of proper, all-encompassing representation.
With that, this search will run from now until 10 June, in order to platform those who wish to showcase their unique perspectives on beauty and share personal stories on their idea of beauty.
Selected inclusive ambassadors will get the opportunity to be featured on the media platforms mentioned above as well as be on a billboard in Kuala Lumpur.
