Scam: Haa Ha (Independent)

Whatever could possess a person to buy this misery-fest triple album from local singer-songwriter Self Conscious Acronym-ed Man (SCAM) is beyond my comprehension.

Armed with an acoustic guitar, a heavy voice and desperation to get over something/someone, SCAM treats us to a slew of never-ending tales of betrayal and bitterness. Tackling uber taboo subjects like lesbian SPGs (‘Asian Slave White Master’), money shots (‘I’m A Bitter Man’) and zombie girlfriends (‘Dead Bodies In My Car’), there’s also the sentimental, softer side of SCAM (‘The One’), but as the album cover artwork points out, love is a battlefield and this dude needs a medic(ation).
