Thirsty for JUICE content? Quench your cravings on our Instagram, TikTok and WhatsApp

We’re spending the week rounding up the year that was 2010. Yesterday we gave you the places you would most likely find us at. Today we’re giving you the music makers and purveyors that got us there and keep us moving. From local to internation, here’s the best of the best that KL offered us this year!

Text: Ben Liew, Emma Lee, Kevin Yeoh + Miranda Yeoh

Best DJ Act: BLINK + GOLDFISH (LOUD)

It’s definitely an epic moment when these 2 DJs unite to amp the sound system at Zouk every Saturday night, and we aren’t surprised how successful this tag team has been. Loud is about the education of dance music, and there’s no escaping the sound clash when you put Blink and Goldfish together in one room!

Best New DJ: Miss Eva T

She’s the current hip queen of the Malaysian decks, ripping dancefloors with her mix of rnb, hip hop, electro and progressive house. Her bold style and fashion sense have seen her through some of the hottest events, including performing to a crowd of hundreds at the recent installment of Hennessy Artistry-where she paired up with Foulworks. Now, that’s girl power.

Best Visiting DJ: CALVIN HARRIS

From crazy tweets to frenetic beats, the 6’4″ wonder came to reduce ladies everywhere to a mushy pulp and set us all on fire with a maxed-out night of explosive electro gongs at Zouk. Certainly one of the best nights out for those who were there.

Best International Touring Act: THE RAPTURE

Before releasing their latest album this year after being on hiatus since 2006, dance punk revivalists The Rapture did us the honour of performing in KL for the 1st time at Heineken Green Room. Whoo! Alright! Yeah! Uh huh!

Check out part 1 here. Stay tuned, tomorrow we’ve got the best events we attended in Kuala Lumpur in 2010!
