Catch DJ-Producer Yahna One Last Time at the Return of Ronggeng Sound System

It’s been a while since the last Ronggeng Sound System night – what not with its founder, Renry Hollins, being busy with vinyl collective Public School, making way for Darker Than Wax’s first official show in KL in May, and not to mention the fasting month in June. Praise the bass gods then that the night is returning this Saturday 8 July, just in time to book Yahna, fresh off the release of his seminal debut LP Haze, before he leaves Kuala Lumpur for good (or until further notice, at least).

Supporting him is visual artist Zulamran Hilmi, who has worked with anyone from yours truly, JUICE, to FWD. The multihyphenate talent doesn’t just augment other musicians with visuals though. On his own, he has opened for Air Max ’97 as a DJ in his own right and he’s also the cofounder of regional label Botanic Records, which has released EPs by Orang, Adam Kasturi, and Similar Objects. Of course, Ronggeng residents Typo D and KAIN will be there to test the subwoofers’ limits as well. Jom roggeng!
