Random Malay Man At Gas Station Surprises Dog Rescuer With RM50 Gift For Being Kind To Dogs
It’s not often that kindness gets repaid or even recognised in today’s fast world. To those with enough kindness in themselves to help others, a simple ‘thank you’ can go a long way. Long-time dog rescuer, Mandy Yeap got more than that recently when a random Malay man surprised with RM50 for her passion and hard work towards rescuing stray dogs.
According to The Malay Mail, Mandy was on her way to a friend’s place in Serdang from Puchong after taking a stray dog to the veterinarian for a checkup. However, seeing that the dog seemed thirsty, she made a pit stop at a near petrol station to get it some water.
She recalled her experience, “As I came out from the toilet with water in a styrofoam box, that was earlier used to contain my breakfast, this Malay man seeing I had trouble opening my car door helped me. He then asked me what happened to the dog and I told him I rescued it from Puchong. He then went inside the station’s convenience store while I let the dog take sips of water from the box.”
As she was about to leave the station, the man came out of the convenience store and flagged her down.
“I asked him what happened and he handed me RM50. I initially declined but he insisted that I take as he wants to do charity for the dog,” Mandy said.
Mandy, who has been stray dog rescuer for over 5 years now, felt touched and explained that throughout all those years this has been the first time someone had appreciated her work.
Surprised, she asked for his name, but he declined to give details.
“God knows,” he replied.
The only information that she managed to get from this brief encounter was a picture of the man getting into his white Toyota Vios which she had posted on Facebook.
The post has garnered at least 7k likes with many Facebook users praising the man’s kind act.
Reward or not, it’s the thought that counts. We hope that the man will be receive kindness in return too.
