Who needs Bono when you have Radiohead headlining a concert for Haiti. Last Sunday, Radiohead raised more than £350,000 for Haiti relief in Los Angeles. It was also the band’s first show since Reading festival last year without any TV coverage or frills. They announced the concert on their website 50 hours before the show and tickets were sold as an online auction from £293 and £1,230 each, as reported by Los Angeles Times.

Thom Yorke and the rest of the Radiohead band members were recording their 8th studio album when they decided to do this concert. The show attracted around 1,300 people including big shots of Justin Timberlake, Jessica Biel, Drew Barrymore and director Paul Thomas Anderson. The band performed their biggest hits, 2 encores and a new song ‘Lotus Flower’. Thom even joked with the crowd, “What did you do to get a ticket? Get money from your dad? Or blackmail your boss?”

Proceeds of the concert will be donated to Oxfam. It is also a part of the ongoing Oxfam fundraiser which will include auction of items donated by Coldplay, Arctic Monkeys and many others.
