Collaborating with multihyphenate artists might be a winning recipe for Adam Kasturi. Fresh off releasing his track with multimedia artist Leo Ari two months ago, Adam has found another visual creative-turned-singer in 21-year-old Sharina Shahrin. While her main repertoire of the arts consists of photography, graphic design, and painting, Sharina feels like dabbling in music is something of a natural progression — especially after Adam and Leo approached her. “The energy was just right and it all felt very organic,” says Sharina, and that statement’s veracity can be verified via the two’s finished product — ‘Sinner’. Singing over the complex beat of Adam’s lowtemp future pop in r’n’b vocal styling, the track shares the same pained pop aesthetics of our October issue’s cover Goddesses; “… a song about being vulnerable,” to quote Sharina herself, seemingly channelling our interview with Banks.
