AWAS!: A Week of Animated Shorts opens with the POOP Volume 1 Book Launch and Exhibition starring a musical performance by Shoupihou. The eccentric magazine from Huaguoshan features independent and experimental comics by various artists. It’s bound to be a whimsical premiere.

AWAS! is also offering a Sound in Animation Shorts workshop by sound designer Andrea Martignoni. Participants will be brought out to explore the animated streets of Chinatown with a new perspective, acting as inspiration for a soundtrack of an imaginary animation short they will be working on. Only 12 lucky animators, sound designers, musicians and composers will be able to learn the importance of music, field recordings and noise, so register now!
