Set to air every day from 7am until 12am, the education-based channel will be broadcasting home-based teaching and learning content (PdPR) based on the curriculum and co-curriculum of MOE, as well as edutainment programmes.

The prime minister acknowledged that due to several factors, including a lack of access to the Internet for many students, PdPR was not able to be implemented fully

As one of the initiatives in diversifying learning resources as well as for helping students who do not have Internet access or a device suitable for online learning, MOE provided terrestrial TV Pendidikan programme slots which have been broadcasting on Okey TV RTM, Astro TV Tutor, and DidikTV @ ntv7.

TV Pendidikan was broadcast terestrially around 1972, and since then it has been changed to an online format through the EduwebTV portal in 2008, but was soon ended in 2009.

However, MOE took the initiative to revive TV Pendidikan when the MCO was first implemented on 18 March 2020. This effort enabled students to gain access to materials and learning via television.

During his speech, Muhyiddin highlighted his experience watching one of DidikTV’s slots called Road to Success.

“Recently I had the opportunity to watch the Road to Success slot SPM 2020 for Mathematics Paper 1 by Cikgu Arzman Saad. Among the things that caught my attention was the teacher’s creative teaching style, which is easily understood by students.”

“It is my understanding that the teachers invited to teach are experienced in their respective fields, so that the quality of teaching delivered to students is on the best level. Such programmes are very helpful for Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) examination candidates, who will sit for the exam next week,” said the Prime Minister.

DidikTV broadcasts live on channel 107 on MyTV, channel 147 on Astro, and channel ntv7 on TV Unifi. Alternatively, DidikTV videos are also available on ntv7’s YouTube channel.
