Pioneer Digital DJ Battle 2013: The Road to DJ Glory

Being the same age, both JUICE and Pioneer had witnessed the DJ scene here grow since the infancies of Kuala Lumpur’s nightlife boom in the early ‘00s, and just like us, Pioneer has remained an unmovable object in the scene. Originating from Orlando, Florida and initiated by a group of audio savvy, Pioneer Pro-Dj Execs, the Pioneer Digital DJ Battle has grown to become a hugely anticipated event though out the world. Returning for their 11th year in Malaysia, the Pioneer Digital DJ Battle is one of Malaysia’s biggest DJ competitions who over the years have nurtured top local talents including big name DJ’s such as Dj Fuzz, Dj Victor G, DJ Goldfish, DJ Blink and many more.

The competition over the years has proven to be quite a tough nut to crack  but the prizes this year are even more attractive as Pioneer is upping the ante by giving the next Malaysian Champion an automatic entry into one of the bi-annual editions of the Asian Championships in 2014. Ben Cracko, (last years champion) will be defending his title with this years’ top 5 finalists in order to represent Malaysia in The Asian Championships in 2014.

To join, submit your entry form (available for download at www.pioneer.my) along with a 20-minute long mix on CD that showcases your mixing skills – that means anything from beat mixing, juggling to scratching. The mix must be produced using Pioneer CDJ Player, Mixer, and Effector. Submissions will only be entertained till no later than 31 October 2013. Only 5 top contestants will be chosen for the ultimate battle in the Grand Final at Zouk Club KL on the 6th of December 2013.
