PHOTOS: 30 Patients Evacuated After Two Wards in Klang Hospital Caught Fire

A fire broke out at two empty wards of a private hospital in Persiaran Raja Muda Musa, Port Klang on Sunday (10 Oct) night.

Fortunately, there were no injuries reported in the incident, according to NST.

In a statement earlier today (11 Oct), the Selangor Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) said that a fire had broken out in a wardroom with an area of 400 sq ft at Pantai Hospital Klang.

JBPM’s department director Norazam Khamis said a distress call was received at 11.38pm and personnel from the Port Klang fire station arrived at the scene four minutes later.

He said firemen managed to put out the blaze within 30 minutes. Take a look:

A total of 50 people, including 28 patients from nearby wards, 20 employees and two guardians of patients had been moved to safer areas as a precaution.

Norazam said the cause of the fire was still under investigation.
