Phase 2 Announcement of 1WMF: Moby and Snoop Dogg

If you haven’t already heard, the 1 World Music Festival just announced Phase 2 of its lineup. Moby and Snoop Dogg (aka Snoop Lion) have been added to their lineup! Moby has sold over 20 million albums worldwide and is generally considered one of the most important dance music figures of his time. Snoop Dogg has sold over 30 million albums worldwide and his unique style plays counterpoint to the prevailing sound of the rap scene. Without a doubt two of the most recognised masters of music the world over, their work continues to define the direction of the music industry. With the Festival bringing in deified artistes like those 2, we can’t help but wonder what’s up for Phase 3 of their announcement.

The Phase 1 lineup already shines with the most blinged out music acts around including Far East Movement, Cobra Starship, Cosmic Gate, Infected Mushroom, Iggy Azalea, Tinie Tempah, Yuna and many, many more. It’s also giving play time to our own regional musical talents, like Sezairi Sezali, Kevin Lester and Nicole Chen. Akshai Sarin, Roxy June and the Bangkok Invaders add to the Asian representation.

A very well curated mix of sounds, and cause for excitement, we’re sitting here dreaming about September on the green lawns of the Marina Barrage, the night skyline of the metropolis Singapore in the background, and the music from the stage rising from a suspenseful low intensity to an orgasmic crescendo that thrusts us to our feet in rapturous dance… only to realise the harsh reality that we’re still in the office.

With good music in our blood, we can’t help but look to this Festival with a wee bit too much anticipation. You can be sure we’ll be there to delight in the music, especially the new singles these artistes just released. It’s going to be a great one. We’re hyped for the Phase 3 announcements and, see y’all there!
