PETRONAS’ Mysterious New Drama Series Will Have You Dying For New Eps To Come Out ASAP

While PETRONAS is known for their touching and heartwarming festive ads for every occasion, they’ve decided to do something different this year.

Introducing 366 — PETRONAS’ brand new original drama series!

Drawing inspiration from the highs and lows of recent years, this seven-episode drama series set in the near future tells stories about Malaysians’ reality and second chances.

Instead of the usual one video that tells a standalone story per cultural holiday, 366 breaks the mould of conventional festive storytelling by depicting one storyline over seven episodes. That means, you’ll have to wait for the next festive season in Malaysia to find out what happens next!

Anchored upon the overall PETRONAS 2022 festive campaign themed ‘Live Again’, 366 sets out to portray the resilience, fortitude, and togetherness of Malaysians during trying times.

The chaos of 2020 and 2021 has given many of us time to rethink life and consider what really matters. People have also been forced to confront their true strengths, fears, and weaknesses.

As PETRONAS has always told real Malaysian stories, they wanted to capture how we’ve changed after going through tough times in recent years. That’s why 366 is the story of adventure, self-discovery, forgiveness, and second chances.

In depicting this, PETRONAS wants to remind Malaysians that today’s uncertainty or mistakes should not stop us from moving forward and thriving. It is only when we dare to look beyond that we are able to move to new heights.

Chinese New Year marks the release of the first episode, Day 32, and we’re already hooked!

Revolving around the main character, Zhi Yi, as well as her friends and family, the first episode starts off with a literal bang, throwing us headfirst into the story and leaving us incredibly intrigued.

While making her way back to her hometown with her mother, Zhi Yi struggles with the choice of having reunion dinner with her father or giving in to her mother’s cryptic request.

When the unexpected happens, Zhi Yi is thrown into a situation where her choice is made for her, and she’s left reeling as she tries to take her present situation in stride.

Talk about an intense first episode! And that cliffhanger ahhhhh!

Sadly, we’ll have to wait till the next episode comes out during Raya to find out what happens next, nuuuuu! Until then, we’re gonna be rewatching this ep and trying to figure out what’s going on. Got so many unanswered questions wei.

This first episode was directed by multiple award-winning director and producer, Kabir Bhatia

With over 26 years of experience in the entertainment industry, the Mumbai born filmmaker has spent the last 20 years in Malaysia, making a name for himself in the film industry. Examples of his past work include Bisik Pada Langit (2016), Anak Merdeka (2017), Pulang (2018), and Sangkar (2019).
