On The Desk: Choccies!
In some offices, you get faxes, memos and forms thrown on your desk for attention. In our new regular blog section, On The Desk, good or bad, if it lands on our desk, we’ll be telling you about it, thus shaming or celebrating those odd and interesting items that PR companies send our way. Landing in our Inbox a month ago, is this pretty pink box of sinful treats.
From recently opened Schokolart, the SohoKL chocolate bar specialises in fine Swiss chocolate right from these handcrafted dainties (which we quickly dispatched) to choco desserts, and even chocolate sauces for its dishes. Yes, there are savouries too, largely Swiss specialties like roesti and bratwurst, but also things like salmon and lamb and chicken satay, the latter 2 drenched in choc sauce. But back to the chocolates.
I’m not partial to chocs, but I can say these are not the kind to be scoffed in one sitting. They explode in your mouth. Tiny butterflies and flowers bursting with strange and wonderous flavours like orange and mint, and wasabi that dance like faeries across your tongue. No, really….
Go there and try it. Weekday lunch sets run from 11.30-2pm at RM18+. Weekend high teas with chocs, scones, pasties et. all. go for RM35+, but the once a month the Chocs-2-Die-For Soiree is unmissable. It’s RM75+ for unlimited alcoholic chocolate cocktails and shooters with tapas from around the choc fountain, pole dancing and other equally wicked fun. 10pm-1am. 1st Saturday of the month. This desktop extra gets the thumbs up.
