Having just hosted his debut exhibition at VCR Café, things are on the up and up for Olaf Yen. Dealing with the rather dark themes of spirits, death, and gloom in this initial showcase, the rising artist’s attention to depth and detail has resulted in intricate, yet magnetic pieces of art unlike many others in the scene. Pulling from multifarious influences, the talented artist’s melancholic (and sometimes monochromatic) palette that he utilises propagates the fragile nuances of his artwork where it might have disappeared on other canvases. We’ll be keeping an eye on this one.
