Fans adore them; others want to jackhammer the Gallagher brothers’ smug faces. Wherever your tastes lie, this album isn’t about to change your mind. After 17 years and 7 albums, Oasis comes up with what may be their heaviest and possibly flattest album yet. The band democracy on Don’t Believe The Truth is continued here. There are uplifting moments, like Liam’s Lennon-esque ballad ‘I’m Outta Time’, and then there’s the ‘Icky Thump’ riff rip-off ‘Waiting For The Rapture’. Perhaps it’s time they stop listening to The Beatles and put on some Bloc Party. BL
