Oasis Abandons Stage then Promise Fans Refund
JUICE woke up next to Tweets about the Oasis concert from a former JUICE babe. Apparently Oasis was booed off stage because the concert stopped mid-way when technical difficulties prevented the Brit brothers to go any further. According to Ili_Fm’s twitter messages, Oasis were halfway through performing their song (‘Lyla’ at Heaton Park Manchester), when thick smoke started coming out of the backstage area. On further investigation, it appeared that one of the generators went bonkers and the band was forced to abandon the stage twice. The first incident occurred soon after playing their opening set ‘Rock N roll Star’, due to sound problems. It’s a real bummer for the 70,000 fans that turned up to watch Oasis’ much talked about headline show and waited patiently for them to take the satge after Twisted Wheel, Reverand And The Makers and Kasabian.
After 40 minutes, the problem was fixed and the siblings came back on stage to kickstart the successful 24-song set which ended with their customary cover of the Beatles ‘I Am Walrus’. Liam then promised to give fans a full refund on their tixs. “Really sorry about that this is a free gig now. Everyone will get a refund.” Noel then added “The curfew’s 11, but we’ll play ’til they kick us off. Keep your ticket and you’ll get your money back”.
But according to NME however, later on in the set, Noel then told the crowd “We’re not sure how it’s going to work with getting the money back. Be on a website or some what. Not getting paid for this so buy a t-shirt on the way out. Credit crunch and that, keep my kids in sweets and if you’re getting your mum and dad to pick you up outside afterwards, tell them we’re not leaving until 2am. Kind of regret offering you your money back now. Apply for it back if you want to be a c**t, we do our best for you.” Now that’s more like the Gallagher brother we know!
