Nuffnang-Maxis Music Bash @ Maison
When the Nuffnang-Maxis’s Music Bash ’09 set the dresscode and theme of the party as ‘Celebrity Impersonations’, they certainly knew it would set the tone for the night. JUICE entered Maison feeling like a million bucks. The red carpet was rolled out, with security guards lined up on both sides. Little by little, celebrities and ‘celebrities’ were strolling in fashionably late, but inside, ice-breakers and other games were already ongoing. With only bloggers and their friends invited, the crowd was kept manageable. We were all entertained by a live band, consisting of bloggers, that called themselves The Hollogramz, sans Jem. They belted out a rendition of Howie Day’s ‘Collide’ which we thought was more entertaining than impressive. Guests continued to mingle around, food was served. The free flow of drinks for all kept us happy. In a separate room, PlayStation 3 heads were kept busy with the Rock Band game. Away from the all the hype of the party downstairs, there was also a special area with 5 laptops for bloggers to do live blogging upstairs.
The games continued, and we saw a singing contest, a dancing contest and the emcee, blogger Liang, who got pulled in in the camaraderie of it all. A performance by the all-female Organising Committee, the ‘Nuffnang All Stars’, saw the crowd dancing along to ‘Jai Ho’ from Slumdog Millionaire. After a ‘Grammy’ award ceremony, guests took to the dancefloor and partied the rest of the night away. JUICE copped a goodie bag with a funky laptop skin, car sunshades and badges. Neat!
