It seems like when he’s representing his Krayziesoundz crew, DJ-producer I-Sky is more often known by his other alias, Ninjaboi, which is the stage name he goes by on the mic. With the first track of 2017 from that alter ego, he’s looking to cement his credentials as a bonafide rapper, bestowing this piece of braggadocio upon listeners, “Doing this thing cara sambil lewa/ But every time I spit bars, it’s on fire/ Eh, orang kata ‘bestnya!’/ Maybe one day boleh jadi aku punya career.” Like most millennial hip hop acts, this generation tends to make good music when they’re the least self-serious about reppin’ the culture. Featuring guest MC Jayskitz, ‘Bonafide’ comes with a suburb-set music video that’s more on the boujee side than bad – with post-production and editing work by marquee hip hop director HAVERHUCK, whose geographical distance isn’t stopping him from having a hand in local hip hop by much.
